Description: It all boils down to one question, do you trust yourself? Don’t look to others to validate you. When you need someone to validate you, this is you giving away your power and identity. From our parents to our significant others – we look for them to confirm what is best for us. However, the only person who can do that best is ourselves.
You don’t need anyone to validate who you are or the choices you make. We are all here on this Earth to experience life, not the life someone else wants us to have. I don’t want you to be trapped in that never-ending cycle of seeking validation outside of yourself.
Trusting yourself takes you being confident in who you are and what you choose to do. Knowing and believing in yourself and your abilities. Knowing that you are one-hundred percent capable of making decisions for yourself. Trust your decision making – the partner you choose, the career, your parenting decisions, etc…
It’s okay to make mistakes and fall flat on your face. Guess who is going to pick you up, dust you off, and keep moving you forward? You, yes, it will be you more times than someone else. If the concept of time can teach us, is that we aren’t meant to stay stuck. We are to keep moving forward.
Affirmation, “I am secure in who I am. I trust myself.”
During my personal growth journey, it was my spiritual counselor who made it clear to me that although it is two people in a relationship or union; we as individuals have our own separate experiences and lessons we learn from each relationship we enter. For example, is was my last relationship with a soulmate of mine, that helped me to grow and learn so much about myself and what I want in life. It wasn’t always a pleasant experience, but I got so much out of the experience with my ex. It was that experience that I understand the meaning of “bitter-sweet”.
It is a personal choice to stop seeking the validation of others. You look within yourself for your strength to take you outside of this mindset, habits, and behaviors. If you would like more support and accountability during your journey please hop on over to our free Facebook community.
